Pastor Iain Morrison:
I was brought up in a Christian home on the Island of Lewis and then studied for an Electronics degree in Edinburgh. With my new found freedom I sought to find fulfillment of life, but instead found a great emptiness in all that was on offer. I began to seek meaning and purpose with God and was amazed to find outstretched arms of love reaching towards me. Within a year, I found myself with a sure and certain faith in Christ, giving me hope in this life and for the life to come.
I began to seek meaning and purpose with God and was amazed to find outstretched arms of love reaching towards me.
After twenty years in Telecommunications, I responded to God’s call into ministry. I studied for a degree in Theology at the International Christian College, followed by a year at the Scottish Baptist College. In 2006 I was called to be the Pastor at Lerwick Baptist Church, where I served for seven and half years until I was called to be Pastor at Inverness Baptist Church in March, 2014.
The trend over the last few years has been for the Lord to bless and grow churches that move from city centres to the suburbs. Despite this, I have become increasingly convinced that there is still a role for city centre churches in the twenty first century. The great challenge for us in Inverness Baptist Church, is to discern together what this looks like and then to be willing to move from our comfort zones into the Lord’s future blessings.
We would love for you to join as we worship the Lord together.
